  • Ban the import of horse hormones serum
Wild horses are and have been rounded up for exploitative use of their blood for around thirty years. This horrible news as recently come to light through under cover actions, it had been hidden from the public and its little wonder why. The wild horses are rounded up taken to "blood farms" hooked up to machinery , where their blood is extracted, there is a hormone which is then extracted from that and sold to Pharmaceutical companies, who in turn sell it to pig farmers here. This is a multi million industry. There are no rules or regulations in place to stop the horses being taken or to regulate the welfare of these horses while at these farms, many literally are bled to death. Even worse the pregnant mare as the more potent hormone (Gonadotropin) which is extracted during the early stages of pregnancy, the hormone is used in intensive farming of pigs and other farm animals to keep them in heat. And on top of that 20 per cent of the new born piglets are destroyed as the mother does not have enough teats to feed them all. All of this is completely criminal , unnatural, and unsustainable. The horses that are kept alive for further extraction are suffering a horrible existence. If we don't speak up about it and do something, we will have a huge Equine crisis on our hands as well as the continued issue of intensive farming .

  • Don't fine the homeless of Exeter for begging.
Exeter Council are handing out fines to people who beg for food or money from strangers. It’s an attempt to sweep homelessness and begging out of the area, but it could mean people sleeping on the streets over winter face fines they can’t afford. These people need support, like shelters and access to food and advice, not fines for asking for money. Fining them will not solve the problem of homelessness, it will divide us even further. Edit: In an effort to be transparent please read the following: It has been brought to my attention that this new public spaces protection order(PSPO) is not set to be decided until the end of February, if we can stop it from happening in the first place that would be amazing. Also, the PSPO specifically targets 'aggressive' begging, which is described as begging near a cash point or approaching people directly. A link to this information is below: https://cllrpaul4cowick.wordpress.com/category/pspo/ I personally do not know how different officers will enforce this, or how subjective 'aggressive' is. I do not mind being approached for money, however you may feel differently. The link to the information I was originally presented with is here: http://m.exeterexpressandecho.co.uk/could-you-be-in-trouble-under-exeter-8217-s-public-spaces-protection-order/story-30027760-detail/story.html Thank you, Ella

  • Make Hampshire Constabulary act on all reports of dangerous driving
This is important because the lives of myself and hundreds of other vulnerable road users have either been put at risk, altered by injury or taken by dangerous drivers, who then face little to no repercussions for their behaviour. At the moment, unless there's a collision, the force will take no further action, claiming that anything less doesn't meet the CPS threshold for dangerous driving, despite the CPS and Road Traffic Act 1988, who say that it's dangerous driving if there's a risk of injury or serious property damage.

  • Don't fine people for begging in Poole
The idea of fining those who already have so little, that they are forced to sleep out in the cold or ask for food and money is a cruel and heartless act. This is attacking vulnerable people and does not resolve the issues homeless people face. Other campaigns have successfully stopped other councils from imposing similar fines. Nottingham has proposed £60-100 fines, but others are planning up to £1000. Councils use get-outs that they're "intentionally homeless" or "not vulnerable enough" to avoid helping these people. Most have one or more health conditions. We live in a rich western enlightened democracy apparently. Do you want this to happen in your name? We've already had a response from Poole Council's Safer Communities Manager, Ian Cooke, who invites us all to go and have a chat with him: "if you are so concerned about the plight of the homeless and those begging on the streets of Poole you might like to come and discuss the issues with me". If you'd like to share you views with Mr Cooke please feel free to email him on: [email protected] This campaign is based on this information from Poole council's website, the order lasts for 3 years and was introduced in December 2014: http://www.poole.gov.uk/newsroom/2014-news-archive/december-2014/borough-of-poole-obtains-public-spaces-protection-orders/ If you have anything that suggests that Poole Council are no longer able to fine people for begging then we'd love to hear more from you, drop us an email at [email protected]
