Stop the Homeless Crisis in Brighton! The homeless crisis in Brighton is shocking. With the rising cost of living and rent hikes in the area homelessness has visibly increased. There are people living in shop doorways on almost every street and alley way. They are begging for money for food with absolutely no way out of their situation. It is virtually impossible to get a job when you are homeless and in offering the homeless a home we give them a second chance at life. A chance to get a job and live with the dignity and respect we all deserve.98 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Josh Richardson

Stop BullyingThis is important because i have seen someone very close to me being bullied from being a confident, beautiful, talented, intelligent young lady to self-hate, lack of confidence, uninspired young lady. The bullying is going on for nearly two years now and we have tried to do everything, report to the school, get in touch with the police but it did not help. Many young people in the UK are being bullied until they commit suicide, self harm or stopping them from being who they are meant to be not only young people even in work places some adults find it okay to make someone's life unbearable. Everyone should have the right to be happy and live in freedom from being bullied with other people.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alvina Dube

Multi-option and preferential referendumsFor any supporters of PR, the 2011 referendum on AV or FPTP was like asking a vegetarian, "beef or lamb?" The poll should have been similar to the 1992 New Zealand ballot which had 5 options... and they now have a form of PR. In like manner, the 2014 Scottish referendum should have had 3 options: status quo, 'devo-max' and independence. And Brexit should have had, say, 4 options: the UK in the EU, EEA, Customs Union or WTO. Binary ballots are inaccurate. As with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Turkey, 2-option polls enable those in power to choose the option and thus dominate the agenda. No wonder majority voting has been used by Napoleon, Lenin, Hitler and many other 'democratic dictators'. Furthermore, "all the wars in the former Yugoslavia started with a referendum," to quote Sarajevo's famous newspaper, Oslobodjenje, and the same now applies to the conflict in Ukraine. In summary, binary voting is the most divisive, primitive and inaccurate measure of collective opinion ever invented. A better methodology would be a multi-option points system, first advocated (he thought) by Rev Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) in 1884, who didn't know Jean-Charles de Borda had done it in 1770, who was unaware of this same invention by Nicholas of Cusa in 1435. And maybe the first 'first' was Ramon Llull in 1299. For obvious reasons, politicians prefer majority voting because, yes, then they control the agenda. For obscure reasons, the Electoral Commission refuses to consider multi-option voting, and likewise the otherwise impartial BBC seldom if ever discusses either the Borda or Condorcet rules. If, however, the world continues to believe in binary referendums, there is the danger that the forces of populism will say no to everything... until there is nothing; and/or autocrats like Erdoğan will continue to amass power until they have everything.74 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Peter Emerson

Requesting Home Office to revise the Settlment visa process and applicaitonSettlement application are important step in many people life , but is far from being informed and manged process and it turned to be a nightmare to many British families and bring them apart. Mamy mistakes happen every day and the appeal process is very lengthy and can take 1 to 1.5 years Similar settlement processes in Australia or Canada could take same time but it is far less stressful and with less mistakes.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jamal Al Tamimi

Chippenham urges Michelle Donelan to vote to reopen the Dubs AmendmentThese children have fled and survived things most of us cannot possibly imagine. Many now find themselves sleeping rough or living in overcrowded camps without adequate resources. These children are at huge risk of trafficking and abuse and deserve our protection. In the previous vote Michelle Donelan voted in favour of limiting the Dubs scheme to only 150 additional children and not opening the scheme to unaccompanied child refugees currently stuck in Italy or Greece. Thousands of refugee children are alone and in need of protection across Europe and the Dubs Amendment was put in place to bring up to 3000 children to safety in the UK. To stop the scheme at just over 10% of this number is unacceptable. Michelle Donelan is our representative in this debate and her decision to vote to end the Dubs Amendment was not representative of the views of the people in her constituency. Please sign to show your support for these children and ensure Michelle Donelan acts as an accurate representative of our wishes.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lauren Caley

Die with Dignity in ScotlandToo many people reach the end of their lives, and sadly are in tremendous pain and have lost their dignity. The medical profession keeps these people alive against their will. This is inhuman. My father, mother and aunt all begged me to terminate their lives to end their suffering. That was over 40 years ago and nothing has changed. Please read this distressing link about Flora, who died recently in Fife. BEWARE IT IS GRAPHICALLY DISTURBING. www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/help-die-family-release-heartbreaking-961406050 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Grahame Wear

Criminal records data retention until a person is 100 in UKBill to amend the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 will be debated soon. England and Wales brand young offenders criminals for life. The punitive and penal approach to the rehabilitation of young offenders and disclosers and retention of criminal records is vastly different to many other countries. Below is brief guide of how other nations treat criminal convictions. • Canada permanently deletes records of juvenile convictions once an individually turns 18 or after 5 years of turning 18. Murder, manslaughter and aggravated sexual assault are never deleted. Canada also has a pardon system that allows adults to appeal for their records to be suspended and not disclosed if an individual can show good character and rehabilitation since the offence. Also in the USA individuals can apply to have their records expunged; this is for citizens under 18 and varies from state to state. • Scotland does not disclose convictions if 15 years has passed or if an individual were 18 or over 18 at the date of conviction, 7 and half years, if an individual were under 18 at the date of conviction • Australia expunges juvenile convictions after 3 years of no repeat offending and has a pardon policy for adult convictions • In Spain, conviction records are not erased completely but are ‘cancelled’ in a process known as ‘cancelling a conviction record’. Once conviction records are cancelled, the individual will possess a clean criminal record. Therefore, the record of their convictions will be sealed in the Central Criminal Records Registry and is likely made unavailable to the police. To cancel a conviction record a period of time after having served the sentence must have elapsed (6 months, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years depending on the sentence); no further crime has been committed in the interim and civil compensation has been paid or the person has been declared without money. • Ireland. If 3 years has lapsed juveniles records are wiped clean. • In France for adults once the rehabilitation period has passed (depending on the severity of the conviction either three years for misdemeanors or five years for felony crimes, after the sentence was completed) the records of the convictions will remain on the system but will not show on the request of a record. In the case of minors and children, these are removed once the individual concerned has reached 18 years and/or three years from the date the crime was committed. • In Germany most adult convictions are deleted after 5, 10, 15 or 20 years, respectively.125 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kyle Doyle

We need more midwivesNew babies and mother's are leaving hospital too early. This is affected the babies ability to learn to feed. This is potentially lethal and inhibits a new mothers confidence to continue to breast feed. Such babies miss out on the gifts that breast feeding provides such as increased immunity and decreased sensitivity to food allergens aswell as the emotional bond and comfort breast feeding provides.7 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Louise Nixon

Recognise PCS Union at National Museums Liverpool Trading CieWorkplaces that recognise unions tends to have better levels of pay, happiness and do provide better services to their users. National Museums Liverpool is a public service and should not be exploiting its workers, many of them only earning just about the minimum wage. Many employees of the NML Trading company are local young people and they deserve as much respect as their colleagues employed directly by the museums. As NMLT is fully owned by the museums, museum bosses should not pretend they cannot act or ensure better standards. Yes there have been budget cuts for museums but surely union recognition would not cost a penny and if workers were getting the real Living Wage and decent hours of work, they would be spending their wages in the local economy and not having to consider claiming benefits.318 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Clara Paillard

Stop the Home Office refusing holiday visas for family visits to the UK without good reason. In my wife's case: My wife’s elderly retired parents have been refused entry to the United Kingdom for a family holiday. My wife, is from the Philippines she has a British Passport and has been resident in the UK for a period approaching 10 years, we have been married for the same period. We have paid the application process fees to the Home Office fees amounting to hundreds of pounds, this fee is non-returnable. We have more than sufficient funds in the bank, we are financing the return airfare together with all other expenses, the Home Office have my bank statements, my bank account has never been over-drawn in the past 50 years. I am a retired licensed debt counsellor and finance broker; my credit rating is irrefutably shown as being at the highest possible level. Amongst other shameful, fatuous and humiliating reasons for entry refusal is: 1. They are not satisfied with my wife’s immigration status although she has a British Passport! 2. They are not satisfied that we will not resort to the use of public funds. 3. My wife’s father is unemployed, yes of course he is, he’s retired. 4. Quote from the refusal: I am not satisfied you have shown that your ties to Philippines (or elsewhere) are sufficient incentive to leave the UK at the end of your proposed visit. On balance of probabilities, I am therefore not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor or will to leave the UK after a limited period. Your application for a visit visa is refused under paragraph V4.2. Why would they want to live here, the Home Office acknowledge they live in a mortgage free house in the Philippines which we purchased for them to live in. 5. Mine and my wife’s bank balance fluctuates, why would they not? We run a business, of course it fluctuates, but it's always thousands of pounds in credit, they know that, because they have originals of bank statements and savings accounts. Isn’t about time the Home Office stopped issuing blanket holiday visa refusals in respect of British citizens married to wives with British passports without good reason and then compounding the humiliation by expecting us to pay more fees to appeal their absurdly unsound and injudicious decisions.48 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Geoff Day
