At The Mix, we know that under 25s are extremely talented, and care passionately about the world around them. We are privileged, through our work, to witness first-hand the strength and resilience of young people every day. It's important that as a society we embrace young people from all backgrounds, and nurture their potential as ultimately, they are the future of our country. Often the media narrative around young people can be very negative, focusing on crime, unemployment, or unattainable housing. We hope that a dedicated bank holiday will help to change the narrative around Generation Z into a positive one - STRONG and RESILIENT. In 2018, International Youth Day will come of age and celebrate its 18th anniversary. At The Mix we believe this anniversary is the perfect time to show our appreciation to the youngest members of our society. Currently mobile data providers (Vodafone) let the consumer run up excessive bills and then take the money directly from their bank accounts. This is morally reprehensible.

The oceans are already choked with plastic and by 2050 , there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This could mean starvation to many people and countries that depend on the ocean to survive. This is the sort of environment that breeds conflict and war, thus causing more pollution. I have 5 grandchildren who will be part of this polluted world along with billions of others. We have no need to worry about world war three, as pollution will eradicate the population before , if we don't take action now. If we target supermarkets like Asda, then we can pressurise them into making a difference.

We all know the life and the soul of a city is its arts and culture. Equally as important is the opportunity for us to come together and spend time enjoying ourselves with other people. In a world dominated by smart phones and Netflix we need more reasons to leave our gaff, not less. We need to reverse this trend of destroying everything edgy and interesting about our city to build more beige flats for beige people. Save our city.

Traffic lights are needed to prevent accidents and possible disturbances of the peace. I have been personally involved in one person being injured at this 'Bottleneck ' and I have also been threatened and verbally abused by an irate driver who had to give way to me ! Reserved Parking Places are needed to allow residents a place to 'Park' when returning home etc. as there is just not enough room to 'Park'

At the moment on a really good day we get 5.00 Mbps, at the moment i get 1.00 Mbps. By 2013 they said they said they would upgrade our WiFi to fibre broadband (about 30.00 Mbps)(which is about 5X better than it is now) which they never did.

Currently members of the public are parking illegally on the Yellow Keep Clear school road markings and the double yellow lines directly outside of Darlinghurst Academy and either side of the school. This also includes resident driveways. Through this inconsiderate parking it is causing a danger to all school children/Parents/carers who are trying to cross the road safely.

Lets remember the iconic singer/songwriter and great man George Michael, who sadly passed Christmas 2016. 'Last Christmas' never made it to Number 1 in 1984, it would be a great honour to remember him by purchasing 'Last Christmas' again and placing it at the top spot for Christmas 2017 and for George. People of the Forest of Dean originally helped to pay for these hospitals and their Friends organisations have supported them financially over the years.

Cllr Margaret Pattison, Cllr Janice Hanson, Cllr Darren Clifford and Cllr David Whittaker are very concerned with living in a seaside area such as Morecambe and Heysham that children should have a local pool to learn to swim. The pool has 54.000 visitors a year with 16 schools using the pool for swimming lessons and groups helping people to keep fit and healthy, if closed this would effect the health and safety of the people in Morecambe.

The EU referendum represented a low point in post war UK democratic politics. Only now are problems coming to the fore that were not considered in the referendum and not debated at the time. Oeople did not know the consequences of them and Brexit impact reports are being unacceptably hidden from the people. This is unacceptable and we need a final decision when we know exactly what Brexit means and that means the full terms of an any deal.

I won't pretend that this will change the world or that it is anywhere near as worthy a cause as a great many. It will however brighten sometimes rainy Midlands days, put a smile on people's faces and would be a nice way to say 'thank you' to Jeff for such great music and all he's achieved over the years. It's a big birthday for Jeff this year, too, and what better gift to give!
